Catching up!

Once again, it has been a long while since I updated everyone. I don't know where to start, so I will just pick somewhere! Easton is changing so much and starting to do so many new things and becoming more independent. I know that is strange to say, but he is now able to entertain himself long enough for me to actually accomplish other chores. He has started laughing when he gets really, really excited. He has also taken an interest in watching television. We actually first noticed this one night when we were watching Law & Order. He was just glued to the TV, so now we just set his bouncy chair on the ottoman in front of the TV when he seems interested. He really seems to like sports (imagine that) because of all the movement. He will sit there and make little shrieks and squeals at the TV. He has started "talking" and the more we "talk" back to him, the more he goes on and on. It is just the most amazing thing to watch him develop so quickly.
Let's see, Easton had his first Thanksgiving.....that was fun, as usual. I love all the "firsts" that he will have this "first" year. He will never remember them, but they will be some of Mommy and Daddy's fondest memories. On December 13th, we had "Breakfast with Santa". This was Easton's second time to get his picture made with Santa. The week before, mom and I went to the the mall and, on a whim, I decided to see how he would react to Santa. We got in line with all the kids, most who were between 1 and 4 years old. It was quite obvious that their mommies had been planning this picture for some time because they were all so dressed up and sweet looking in their Christmas clothes. I was shocked when every last child in the line got to Santa's lap and had a melt down!!! All except for Easton, because he was too young to know that a man covered with white hair might be a little scary! The picture turned out really cute! I plan to use it to threaten Easton next year so he will know that "Santa is watching you!" I will post a pic of him with Santa at "Breakfast with Santa". This was put on by a sorority that many of my friends are in......Great Job, girls!! Lots of fun! After "Breakfast" we went to Wulf Outdoor Sports to see Michael Waddell. If any of you watch "Realtree Roadtrips", you know who Michael is. It was a huge deal for the store and there was a great turn out. Michael came along with Nick Mundt who also appears with him in the show. They were so great to all the people.......they shook hands, had pictures made, signed autographs, and chatted with every person who came to see them for about four hours! I decided to get Easton's picture made with them thinking that he will really think that it is cool one day. Now, he was wearing a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer shirt with striped red and white pants. Ben and I decided he would not think that was so cool a few years from now, so I bought him some camo for his "man" picture with Michael and Nick. Thanks guys!

On December 23rd, Easton had his three month check-up. He has recently started eating rice cereal in his bottles due to his reflux. He loves the cereal. He is so much more content! He is 23 1/2 inches long and weighs 13 lbs and 10 oz. He is a growing boy!! I was happy to hear there were no shots for that appointment, but they did have to do a finger prick. The nurse had to do it twice because she could not get enough blood out of the first one......this did not make little E-Bug too happy!! But he survived!! And mommy and Aunt Dee (Amber) survived too!

Then, of course, there was Christmas! Santa was good to Easton and brought him just enough so maybe mommy and daddy won't have to give him the master bedroom! Of course, all the grown-ups were more excited about his first Christmas than he was. His favorite thing was the paper. He would hold it, wrinkle it up, chew it, and then throw it, but boy was that fun!

I guess this is about it, in a nutshell! Enjoy the pics and know that my New Year's resolution is to post once a week........hopefully I will have time to do this between fulfilling my resolutions for the past 5 years!! Ha!!!!

P.S. there will be more pics of Easton "opening" his gifts to follow. I have to get them from another camera!! oooops!
A rare photo opportunity.....Easton with his Mommy!

2 Month Checkup

Easton had his 2-month check-up on Monday. He now weighs 11 lbs 6 oz (50th percentile) and is 23 inches long (also 50th percentile). It was time for his first round of immunizations....so sad! The nurse was great and she gave him the shots in about 20 seconds. I think the first one shocked him and then the crying and tears came....tears came for mommy too! Luckily, his Aunt Am was with us and she got a little teary eyed, but remained calm. As soon as I picked Easton up he got quiet and went to sleep....rough day for a little boy. After that, he did not even act like the shots bothered him, so I was very thankful. Our Daddy is in Australia right now and we are sooooo ready for him to come home! We miss him very much and he misses us too, but he is working hard and will home next Tuesday for a while!

We are looking forward to Easton's first Thanksgiving and getting ready for Christmas! Do ya think Santa will come see him?!?!?!?!?! We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season with family and friends! Take care......

Hello Again!!!

Hey everyone!! Not much has been going on here...Easton is just growing like a weed! He is starting to smile and make cute little noises. He is so alert and still loves to be outside. We take his playmat outside and he lays on it in the yard and just loves it! He looks around and loves all the sounds. We took some Fall pictures. Some are in his overalls and some in his Halloween costume...he was a pea-in-the-pod and was just adorable. Unfortunately, we did not get many of those pics because it was hot outside and he got a little uncomfortable which tunrs into a fit!! I think he is going to be a strong-willed child...he is starting to develop his personality and it is so neat to see. His legs and arms are constantly moving it seems and he is getting pretty strong. His reflex is much better and he is a happy baby! Ben is leaving for two weeks on Tuesday and he is already missing Easton. I am sure Easton will look like a different child when Ben returns. I have posted a bunch of pics for you all to look at and enjoy!!! Take care and have a great week!

By the way, we have our two month doctor visit on November 18th. We cannot wait to see how much he has grown, but he has to start getting his immunizations which Mommy is not looking forward to, but it is just one of those things! We look forward to updating you all on our progress!

Ben & his much younger twin!!

Best Buds! T-Bone just loves Easton. When Easton wakes up from a nap, T-Bone usually hears him first and makes a b-line for his bed. If I don't immediately come, T-Bone runs to me with this look of urgency on his face...it is so funny!

Mommy's Little Sweet Pea!

Easton just being cute!

Time to play!

We went to Center's Homecoming Game because it was Mommy's 10 year reunion! Check out the little boots!

Another park trip!

On Monday, Easton and I took another trip to the park. He LOVES it outside. I took him in his stroller, but then he go the hiccups, which usually makes him pretty mad if they last too long. I decided to take him out of the stoller and he just sat with me and looked around, wide-eyed, for about 45 minutes. We touched the trees and the leaves and saw fish jumping in the pond...he was so content...even with those mean ol' hiccups! I took this opportunity to take some "Mommy and Me" pictures of us. It was so sweet!

One month old!!

On October 16th, Easton turned one month old...it has passed so quickly! Also on this day, his Daddy turned the big 30 and his Busia (Mickey) turned 29 (again)!! On Tuesday, Easton had his 4 week check-up. He is now 21 inches long and weighs 9 lbs 9 oz. He loves to eat so I increased the ounces he eats and now he wants to eat more often. But I am so happy he is a healthy, happy baby boy! I am posting a few more pics...one of Ben "feeding" Easton...guess they got a bit sidetracked. The other one is so funny to me. I let him nap on his tummy and I was laughing because he keeps his little legs scrunched under him and looks like a froggy. Yesterday, I put a froggy outfit on him and went to lay him down for nap and got a cute little surprise when I laid him down...Enjoy....

Update

Well, sorry it has been a while since I posted anything. Easton has been busy growing and Mommy has been busy holding him while he grows. Ben just returned from a week long trip and we are very happy that Daddy is home! Easton made his first trip to the park with Mom and Aunt Ambie. He really enjoyed it.

Easton loves taking a bath...well, as long as Mommy does not do anything stupid like try to spray him off with the kitchen sink sprayer!! I thought that it made more sense to spray him off with that clean water. So, I got the water warm and turned the water down so that it barely even came out of the sprayer because I did not want it to spray him too hard. I got ready, aimed and fired and this was the result~

He threw his hands up in the air, his legs went straight out, and it was like the breath just went out of him! Needless to say, the bath was over!! Here are some other cute bath time pics!!Enjoy the rest of the picture of our sweet baby boy!

2 Week Check-Up

Easton had his 2 week check-up today. He has gained 9 oz, now weighing 8 lbs 3 oz and has grown 3/4 inch in length, making him 20 1/2 inches long. Dr. Cush-John said that he seems to be just "perfect". But Mommy and Daddy already knew that. He is still sleeping a majority of the time, but does spend more time awake. He is a darling!!

First Trip to Church!!

I think it is a miracle, but we actually made it to church this morning. I still have a hard time managing time at times because Easton can be a bit unpredictable, but we were successful this morning in getting Mommy, Daddy, and Easton ready. We were even a few minutes early to church. Easton was so good...he slept the entire time and then we were even able to go eat lunch. Everyone ooooohhhh'd and aaaaahhhhh'd over him! He was so precious.

11 Days Old!!!

Easton is 11 days old today!! We have been a bit slow updating the blog...don't know where all the time goes! We went back to the doctor on Tuesday and he was all clear...no more jaundice. We were so happy! He is still eating and sleeping well. He has started holding his head on his own for just a few seconds, then we become a bobble head again!
T-Bone and Easton have adjusted well to one another. T is very protective of him, especially when company comes over. Easton is not even phased by T's very loud, very high pitched bark, which is great because we hear it often. One day, they will be best buds, but until then, they will just share nap time!

Easton loves sitting, or sleeping, next to Daddy in the evening. They are usually watching the Cubbies or talking about watching the Cubbies! One day, Mommy is going to get to have some pics with this baby boy!
