Once again, it has been a long while since I updated everyone. I don't know where to start, so I will just pick somewhere! Easton is changing so much and starting to do so many new things and becoming more independent. I know that is strange to say, but he is now able to entertain himself long enough for me to actually accomplish other chores. He has started laughing when he gets really, really excited. He has also taken an interest in watching television. We actually first noticed this one night when we were watching Law & Order. He was just glued to the TV, so now we just set his bouncy chair on the ottoman in front of the TV when he seems interested. He really seems to like sports (imagine that) because of all the movement. He will sit there and make little shrieks and squeals at the TV. He has started "talking" and the more we "talk" back to him, the more he goes on and on. It is just the most amazing thing to watch him develop so quickly.
Let's see, Easton had his first Thanksgiving.....that was fun, as usual. I love all the "firsts" that he will have this "first" year. He will never remember them, but they will be some of Mommy and Daddy's fondest memories. On December 13th, we had "Breakfast with Santa". This was Easton's second time to get his picture made with Santa. The week before, mom and I went to the the mall and, on a whim, I decided to see how he would react to Santa. We got in line with all the kids, most who were between 1 and 4 years old. It was quite obvious that their mommies had been planning this picture for some time because they were all so dressed up and sweet looking in their Christmas clothes. I was shocked when every last child in the line got to Santa's lap and had a melt down!!! All except for Easton, because he was too young to know that a man covered with white hair might be a little scary! The picture turned out really cute! I plan to use it to threaten Easton next year so he will know that "Santa is watching you!" I will post a pic of him with Santa at "Breakfast with Santa". This was put on by a sorority that many of my friends are in......Great Job, girls!! Lots of fun! After "Breakfast" we went to Wulf Outdoor Sports to see Michael Waddell. If any of you watch "Realtree Roadtrips", you know who Michael is. It was a huge deal for the store and there was a great turn out. Michael came along with Nick Mundt who also appears with him in the show. They were so great to all the people.......they shook hands, had pictures made, signed autographs, and chatted with every person who came to see them for about four hours! I decided to get Easton's picture made with them thinking that he will really think that it is cool one day. Now, he was wearing a Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer shirt with striped red and white pants. Ben and I decided he would not think that was so cool a few years from now, so I bought him some camo for his "man" picture with Michael and Nick. Thanks guys!
On December 23rd, Easton had his three month check-up. He has recently started eating rice cereal in his bottles due to his reflux. He loves the cereal. He is so much more content! He is 23 1/2 inches long and weighs 13 lbs and 10 oz. He is a growing boy!! I was happy to hear there were no shots for that appointment, but they did have to do a finger prick. The nurse had to do it twice because she could not get enough blood out of the first one......this did not make little E-Bug too happy!! But he survived!! And mommy and Aunt Dee (Amber) survived too!
Then, of course, there was Christmas! Santa was good to Easton and brought him just enough so maybe mommy and daddy won't have to give him the master bedroom! Of course, all the grown-ups were more excited about his first Christmas than he was. His favorite thing was the paper. He would hold it, wrinkle it up, chew it, and then throw it, but boy was that fun!
I guess this is about it, in a nutshell! Enjoy the pics and know that my New Year's resolution is to post once a week........hopefully I will have time to do this between fulfilling my resolutions for the past 5 years!! Ha!!!!
